The Dance/Movie night is tomorrow, Friday, November 17 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.  Either participate in the dance or watch the movie "Elf".  Admission is $5.00 and concessions are available.  There's no need to go home after school.  At 2:15 either go to the auditorium and watch "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" or come to a pizza party in Frau Hackett's room.  You can pre-order pizza at lunch tomorrow, so bring extra money.

Auditions for the Pentucket High School spring musical are November 27-December 1st.  Actors, singers, dancers are welcome!!!  We are also looking for student choreographers and experienced cheerleaders/gymnasts.  This show is full of huge dance numbers and 80's anthems!  The "Grease of the 80's" has something for everyone.  Don't miss out! If you've never done a show before, this is the one to try!  There will be an informational meeting this Thursday.

PRMS will host a holiday season kick-off event Friday afternoon!  Students can choose to attend the dance in the cafe or watch the movie Elf in the auditorium - both will take place from 3-5PM on Friday Nov17 (going between the dance and movie will not be permitted).   All students will need transportation for 5PM.  Students may choose to stay at school until 3PM and watch the Peanuts Thanksgiving special prior to the dance/movie screening, or return for 3PM.  Admission is $5 at the door and PTO will be selling concessions at both the dance and the movie.  This event is for PRMS students only, and we hope to see you there!

Sign-ups for the upcoming Intramural Basketball season will be held on Tuesday, November 7th from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the hallway outside the middle school gymnasium.  The Intramural program is open to all Pentucket Middle School 7th and 8th grade boys.  Games are typically played on Friday nights and run from December to early February.  The cost is $80.00 per player.  Please stop by to register or contact Jose Sullivan at joesully@comcast.net for more information.

Welcome to PRMS!  PTO meetings are throughout the year.  We also welcome any role you can offer the PTO if you can't make it to the meetings.  The PRMS PTO is responsible for coordinating and taking part in a number of various events and fundraisers listed below.  In order to maintain those events, we need your help!

Practices will be at the Pentucket High School mini gym Monday evenings from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and at the Perley School Thursday evenings 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Sign-up night is Thursday October 12th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and from 7:15-8:00  p.m. in the middle school cafeteria. (This coincides with the Washington D.C. Trip 8th grade parent meeting from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.)

 

Or Friday October 20th at the Donaghue School in Merrimac in the cafeteria for the Harvest Festival from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

 

Parent/guardian will need to attend to complete required paperwork and provide payment by check made out to the PRMS PTO.

 

The ski program begins on Thursday January 4th and continues for six consecutive weeks, until February 8, weather permitting.

Community service is looking for volunteers to help out at the Harvest Festival at the Donaghue School on October 20th, Haunted Hike at the Bagnall School also on October 20th and the Bagnall Howl on October 28th.  If interested, see Mrs. Snow.

 

If you would like to attend Oktoberfest next Tuesday, October 10th after school, pick up a permission slip from Frau Hackett or Frau Carreri.  The cost is $5.00.  Money is due by this Friday.

Open Gym will be offered on Wednesday's after school from 2:15-3:00 p.m. beginning September 13!  This opportunity is for boys and girls in the 7th and 8th grade.  Open Gym will be supervised by Mrs. Goldweber.  Students may organize pickup basketball games, toss the football around or use the fitness equipment such as the agility ladders.  Students must be in good standings with their grades in order to participate!

Attention 7th & 8th grade parents!  Pentucket Middle School will be offering Cross Country this fall.  Coaches Andy Alsup, Meg Goldweber and Steve Coppola will introduce students to the sport of cross country.  Instruction will focus on proper running form and technique along with improving speed, strength, and endurance.  Practices will be held after school until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Most meets will be on Thursday afternoons.  Athletes will compete in the Cape Ann League, running races of about 2 miles.  Cost is $120.00.  Registration forms and fee must be received in order to enroll your child.  A schedule will be provided to the students on the first day of the program (September 12, 2017).  Registration forms can be accessed on the Commuity Ed page at www.prsd.org  Registration is now open!

  • Students should plan to arrive between 10-10:15AM on Friday and report to their assigned room to line up for the graduation ceremony.
  • The ceremony will be on the track infield behind PRMS at 10:30AM.  There is some bleacher seating for parents and families, and you are welcome to bring lawn chairs.  Please do not block the center aisle.
  • In the event of rain, the graduation ceremony will be held in the PRHS auditorium.  If the ceremony is moved inside due to weather we will annouce this via email and our website by 9:30AM.
  • At rehearsal today each student received an envelope with two tickets for family members.  Please ask your student for the tickets and have them with you tomorrow.  The tickets will only be needed if weather forces the ceremony indoors, and the auditorium will be at capacity.  Due to this only family with tickets will be seated in the auditorium.
  • Parking on campus can be a challenge, please do not park in any fire access lanes.  There is additional parking next to the middle school and behind the high school.  
  • Please sign your student out if you are dismissing after the ceremony concludes.
  • Class Night is 7-9PM that evening, tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door.  The dance is a dress casual/semi-formal event.

The Middle School Ceremony will be held on the field on June 16th at 10:30 a.m. weather permitting. Students should report to their assigned rooms by 10:15 a.m.  If the weather is inclement, the ceremony will be held in the High School Auditorium.  Students will be given 2 tickets only for an indoor ceremony.  Immediately following the ceremony, students are encouraged to sign out with their parents.

Tyler Knox 4th Place 7th-8th Grade Division 94 lbs.

Trevor Kamuda 8th Place 7th-8th Grade Division 88 lbs.

Nic Williamson wrestled very well in the 130 lbs. weight class

 

In addition, Christopher Legacy placed 5th at the Division 3 North High School Wrestling tournament in Danvers on 2/12 at 132 lbs.  He also competed in the High School Division 3 State Tournament in Wakefield on 2/19/17.

February is Heart Health Month!  There are 5 ways to participate:

 

- Raise money for the American Heart Association using the envelope given out by Period 1 teachers now through March 1.

 

- Jump rope and hula hoop contest after school on Tuesday February 14th in the gym with Mrs. Goldweber - $1.00 donation

 

- Attend a screening of "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown!"  after school on Wednesday February 15th in Room 625 with Mrs. Hackett.  $3.00 admission includes popcorn, a soft drink and valentines candy.  Donations go to student council.

 

- 3 Point contest and half-court shot after school on February 16th with Mrs. Goldweber in the gym - $1.00 donation

 

- Buy SweetTarts valentine's candy for your friends during lunch February 13th and 14th - $1.00 donation

Can you sing, dance, juggle, play a musical instrument or demonstrate a skill like martial arts, jumping rope or tumbling?  Then sign up for the annual PRMS Talent Showcase, which will be held on March 2nd.  All students and staff are welcome to participate.  A special sign-up meeting will take place on Thursday, January 19 in room 625.  You can also sign up with Mrs. Hackett in room 625 anytime and through the link below.
